Our Commitment to Community Engagement

Northland has considerable experience and expertise in community and Indigenous engagement and consultation through its preceding projects here in Ontario, and globally in other key markets where we operate.  Engagement, which is followed by community consultation for the lifecycle of a Project has been the key to establishing, building and maintaining excellent community relations for our Projects.

A more detailed overview of our Community Engagement Plan is available here.

Public Community Meetings

The first Public Community Meeting for the Woodbine Energy Storage Project was held on November 16th, 2023, at East Gwillimbury Sports Complex. Residents in the Project area, including local communities and Indigenous communities were invited to attend, to learn more about the Project and ask questions of the Project team. A second Public Community Meeting will be held virtually on December 10th, 2023, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm to clarify the update on Project sizing of a Contract Capacity of up to 100MW and a Nameplate Capacity of up to 105.3MW and capture any community feedback. The Project engineering and design remains the same, and this update does not change the overall presentation on project characteristics and impacts as communicated in the November 16th Public Community Meeting.
